Cabin in the Pines

Cabin Histories by Address

Scroll down to find the address of the cabin history you’re interested in below. Submitted histories will be listed by address and hyperlinked. Click the hyperlink to read the history of that cabin and its place in the Pinehaven Community. As more owners submit their cabin history, they will be added and linked below.

If your cabin is not listed and you would like us to write a stort and engaging history for you, we would love to help. We have created a very simple process to help you create a short micro history. To do this, we’re inviting cabin owners to complete a short online survey (15–20 minutes). Your responses will help us combine a short history of the land up to the time of your cabin and then write a merged 2,000-word micro-history. Here is what other cabin owners have said after receiving their cabin history.

“That is most impressive!” Jeff Malkiewicz

“It was fun to reminisce about our years in Pinehaven. Recollecting our time here made us cherish our cabin all the more.” Brian and Treva Muirhead

“Our cabin’s past was lost in the wind that blows through the pines! This helped us reconnect with the cabin and Pinehaven’s history” Anne Oxler

With your permission, we will then include your cabin micro-history as a pdf document linked to your address below. You’ll have the option to have your cabin history written in one of two ways: either in a documentary style, focused on factual research and historical accuracy, or in a storytelling style, written as a narrative that brings the history to life through vivid description and narrative flow. You will also be given a version of the history in both Word and PDF format.

If you would rather us interview you over the phone instead of using the online survey just reach out to us at link below.

1. Phone interview. Set up a phone interview by emailing us at [email protected].

2. Online survey. You can take the survey at this link. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/mycabin

BONUS! To encourage participation, we’ll donate $50 to the La Veta Fire Protection District Auxiliary and mail you one customized Pinehaven mug for every cabin owner who completes a survey.
